The combination is key!
Doppelherz Vital Materna PLUS provides not only 800 µg of folic acid but also additional important vitamins and minerals. Additionally, the capsules contain valuable omega-3 fatty acids, including 252 mg of DHA per day.
The intake of a supplement containing folic acid is a simple and effective way to achieve higher folate intakes.
IMPORTANT: It is recommended that all women planning to conceive consider sufficient folic acid intake at least four weeks before conception. However, the need is also significantly increased during pregnancy and lactation.
Iodine plays a role in the normal production of thyroid hormones, which perform important functions in metabolism. Thyroid hormones control many metabolic processes such as growth, energy metabolism, bone formation, and brain development. In pregnant women, maternal iodine supply is crucial as it also provides for the unborn child.
Iron supports the normal formation of red blood cells and the normal oxygen transport in the body. The need doubles during pregnancy.
Zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system and protects cells from oxidative stress.
Magnesium contributes to the normal energy metabolism and the normal function of the nervous system and muscles.
Vitamin C supports the immune system and decreases the risk of iron-deficiency anemia by favoring iron assimilation.
Vitamin E is an antioxidant of cell membranes that slows down cellular aging.
Vitamin D helps calcium fixation in the bones.
Vitamin B1, niacin, vitamin B6, and pantothenic acid play an important role in nutrient assimilation and energy release from sugars and lipids.
Vitamin B2 is required for cell protection, particularly nerve cells.
Vitamin B12 is involved in cell growth and function and in the balance of the nervous system.
Biotin is used to build healthy skin, hair, and nails.
DHA - valuable omega-3 fatty acid for mother and child
The intake of the omega-3 fatty acid DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) by the mother contributes to the normal development of the fetus's eyes and brain and the breastfed infant. In addition to the recommended daily amount of omega-3 fatty acids for adults, an additional 200 mg of DHA should be taken daily.
Humans cannot produce omega-3 fatty acids without the intake of corresponding precursors - they must obtain them from food. Important representatives of omega-3 fatty acids are Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). However, only a few foods contain these valuable fatty acids. Good sources include fatty cold-water fish such as salmon, herring, and mackerel.
Take 1 to 2 capsules daily at meal with enough liquid. Do not chew.
Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dosage! Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet.
The product should be stored out of the reach of children.
Do not store above 25 °C.
